IEEE PES 2011 General Meeting

Minneapolis, July 25-29 April 2010
The IEEE T&D 2008 organizing committee and the PES Power Engineering Education Committee are happy to announce that there will be both a Student Support Program and a Student Poster Contest at the 2008 T&D in Chicago. More information on other activities for students will be posted on the T&D 2008 website.
Student Support Program
At the T&D 2008, we will offer free hotel accommodation to a limited number of students who apply for this support. In case the number of applicants exceeds the number of students we are able to accommodate, there will be prioritization based on (a) whether student is submitting a poster in the student poster contest or has an accepted technical paper; (b) status, i.e., undergrad/grad — undergraduates receive higher priority; (c) early application; (d) merit of application; (e) support provided by student’s advisor. (f) Previous participation in PEEC sponsored programs (g) Number of accepted applicants from any given university. Women, minorities and undergraduates are especially encouraged to apply.
In order to be selected for free accommodation it is not essential to have a technical paper accepted at the Conference, or to enter in the Student Poster Contest, but in the event that there are more student applicants than we can support, the applications will be ranked for support.
We plan to notify students of acceptance into this program by February 6th, 2008.
Please note that no funds will be available to help with travel costs.
Note you MUST register for the T&D 2008 before applying for the student support form. You can register at T&D 2008
Applications for the student support program must be completed using the on-line application form.
The deadline for applying for the student support program is January 29, 2008 (1 p.m. USA Eastern Standard Time).
